About Valerie
My name is Valerie, and I’m a Naturopathic Practitioner based in Chatham, MA. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Alternative Medicine and a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Functional Nutrition.
Currently, I am completing a specialized graduate concentration in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), which enhances my ability to integrate holistic practices with conventional healthcare. This training allows me to collaborate more effectively with Western medical practitioners and provide clients with comprehensive, evidence-informed care.
With over 30 years of experience, I specialize in guiding individuals to reclaim their health through personalized coaching and education. My approach blends time-tested modalities such as nutrition, homeopathy, Reiki, aromatherapy (essential oils), and herbal medicine to support healing from autoimmune disorders, weight management challenges, and acute issues like colds, flu, and even bone injuries.
By combining traditional wisdom with modern public health principles, I empower clients to take control of their wellness journey with holistic, natural tools designed for lasting health and vitality
My Journey
My journey began 30 years ago after a surgeon botched my gallbladder surgery, leaving me with years of painful “ghost” gallbladder attacks. In my search for relief, I found an herbalist who started me on the healing path and eventually referred me to a Naturopathic Doctor who resolved not only my gallbladder issues but several other health challenges I was facing.
Through this experience, I discovered the safety and power of natural remedies, and the profound importance of treating the mind, body, and spirit as a whole. From that moment, a deep passion for holistic healing was born.
I went on to complete a four-year internship with two Naturopathic Doctors who were also midwives, learning invaluable lessons from their wisdom and care. I continued my education independently until I was able to earn my degree. I will forever be grateful to those two remarkable Naturopathic Doctors for their guidance, compassion, and the lasting impact they’ve had on me and my family.
My services
Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine
Unlike chemical substances, natural remedies such as herbs and homeopathy are gently absorbed by the body and work with it to bring about homeostasis. Herbs can be teas, tinctures, tonics, sprays, rollers and ointments. They can be ingested, applied topically, or diffused as needed.
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for therapeutic benefits. An example is taking a blend of oils in a roller with a carrier oil and applying topically for an issue. Some of these can be as simple as a cut, scrape, burn or as complex as gastrointestinal issues, lowering blood pressure or blood sugar, headache relief and more. It can be diffused and breathed in to help reduce stress, fall asleep, focus on studies, etc. Essential oils are even good for reducing alopecia and encouraging new hair growth.
Homeopathy uses natural substances of plants, animals and other sources such as shells. Homeopathic solutions are diluted and potentized and when the solution is tested, there is no trace of the substance, but the vibrations of the substance are retained as water holds memory. This solution is then paired with a sugar pellet or tablet and dissolved under the tongue. It is safe enough for pregnant women and babies.
Supplements are an important part of health now more than ever. Soil is depleted of nutrients and our food supply isn’t as rich in some of the things our bodies need as it once was. I endorse using supplements in therapeutic levels and ones that are infused with essential oils. There are studies showing that supplements infused with essential oils are 80% more bioavailable than without. This means that you may not need to take the recommended dosages and a little can go along way depending on the issue, and your body’s response to them.
Supplements are available for a variety of issues for both adults and children. They can help with things like reducing inflammation, improving gut health, increasing antioxidants, improving men’s health, improving women’s health, stress and anxiety, sleep issues, and more.
Therapeutic Bodywork
I am a Reiki Master and offer sessions as well as classes for those who wish to be certified and attuned. Reiki I is for healing yourself, friends, and family. Reiki II is for people who wish to further their practice as a business. Reiki II includes distance reiki.
Craniosacral is when the energy is stuck in the spinal fluid in the spinal column. It can be gently nudged using hand techniques on the head and lower back. It is very gentle and helps with a myriad of ailments including trauma that is trapped in the body, reducing fevers associated with colds and flu, reducing pain associated with an injury or joint inflammation which is common in autoimmune disorders.
Reflexology utilizes pressure points in the hand, face, and feet. Every organ has a corresponding pressure point elsewhere in the body. The gentle pressure applied to these points are similar in nature to acupressure as they use the same meridians (energy channels) in the body.
All therapeutic bodywork is done on a massage table with the client clothed except for shoes and outer clothes. The only exception might be removal of socks for reflexology as the foot has a connection to every organ, and some of the smaller areas need direct contact, but I have done most right through the socks as I am using the pressure points. The client lies on their back and the movements on the body are static, and apply gentle pressure.
Nutrition
With my Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a focus on Functional Nutrition , I found that nutrition is the cornerstone of health. What we put into our bodies is what it makes cells with. If the nutrition is dense in micronutrients, minerals, and vitamins, the body makes strong, healthy, disease resistant cells. If the nutrition is poor and lacking nutrients, micronutrients, minerals, and vitamins, the body still makes cells, just cells that are susceptible to disease, mutation, and injury. We are what we eat.
Food is medicine and it can help in many of the ailments we face today. Autoimmune disorders, mental health issues, emotions, as well as the physical such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney issues and hormonal health, all from what we eat.
My focus for nutrition is real, whole foods. For many, paleo, the Mediterranean, low carb, ketogenic, carnivore, and lion diets can be tailored to fit the needs and health goals individually. I do offer classes in a group setting as well as personal consultations.
My space
I offer virtual sessions via zoom, and home visits for groups who want reiki sessions , consultations, or classes.
Optionally, I can play music and diffuse essential oils for in person sessions.

My pricing
My pricing reflects my 30 years of experience and having a degree in Alternative Medicine as a Naturopathic Practitioner, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on functional nutrition and Cam therapies. I do have options for classes in groups and encourage people to inquire if they’re having financial need to see how we can trouble shoot for you to get the services you need. Most insurances do not cover my services, however if you have a health savings plan these can be used depending on the language.
All out of pocket expenses are counted towards the deductible if you have a threshold and allow your insurance to kick in to cover the costs of traditional treatments. You can also seek to try for reimbursement yourself, as insurance companies are beginning to see the value of natural therapies and remedies.
Let’s get started on your healing journey
Your healthcare and body are in your hands. My goal is to teach you how to interpret what your body is displaying for symptoms and what solutions might work best for you. The goals of natural medicine and therapies are to do no harm, seek to get to the source of the issue, or root cause, the practitioner is the teacher, and no chemicals or invasive procedures are done.
